Primary Scope: Metadata Mapping & Migration Readiness
Role Purpose
The Business Analyst (BA) will lead the definition and governance of metadata mapping for migration of QMS data from MasterControl, MediaLab, and iPassport into SmartSolve. The role ensures migrated data is accurate, compliant, traceable, and inspection‑ready across Document Management, CAPA, Change Control, and Nonconformance.
Business Analyst – QMS Data Migration (SmartSolve)
Key Responsibilities
Define and document end‑to‑end metadata field mappings from legacy QMS systems to SmartSolve.
Align source system fields, data types, and picklists to SmartSolve target objects and validation rules.
Own controlled vocabulary harmonization (status, doc types, sites, departments, CAPA/NC classifications).
Ensure legacy record IDs and source system traceability are retained.
Perform data profiling and identify data quality, remediation, and transformation rules.
Define migration handling for closed/obsolete records, inactive users, audit trail and eSignature history.
Produce audit‑ready migration artifacts (mapping specs, crosswalks, assumptions, reconciliation criteria).
Act as the functional liaison between business SMEs, source system vendors, SmartSolve implementation, and validation teams.
Support UAT and migration verification, including record count and relationship reconciliation.
Required Experience & Skills
6–10+ years as a Business Analyst in Life Sciences / regulated environments.
Strong experience with QMS platforms (MasterControl, MediaLab, iPassport; SmartSolve preferred).
Proven experience in data migration and metadata mapping for enterprise systems.
Solid understanding of QMS processes (Docs, CAPA, Change, NC).
Working knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, ALCOA+, GAMP 5 / CSA.
Strong documentation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
