Position: Business Analyst

Location: New York, NY (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

 

 

 

Focus: Agricultural/Soft commodities trading and risk management

The role involves working closely with Front Office (Sales, Trading, Quants), Market Risk, Middle/Back Office, and downstream systems. It’s a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams in a Scrum/Agile environment.

 

 

Key Deliverables & Responsibilities

Collaborate directly with Front Office Sales, Trading, and Quants.
Facilitate communication and alignment among all stakeholders.
Capture and document detailed requirements for:
Agricultural financial trades
Physical trades
Listed & OTC (Over-the-Counter) products
Funding
Work with Technology/Dev teams to estimate effort and delivery timelines.
Define test cases and validate features before production release.
Support production issues and help resolve critical incidents post-go-live (as needed).

 

Required Knowledge & Skills

1. Commodities Product Knowledge (Must-have)

Deep understanding of Agricultural commodities markets dynamics.
Familiarity with major exchanges: ICE, CBOT, CME, etc.
Strong knowledge of Derivatives and OTC products (Futures, Forwards, Average Price Options, etc.).
Physical business understanding: Leasing, Financing, and Inventory Management.
Knowledge of agricultural-specific trade lifecycle events.
2. Technical Skills (Must-have)

Strong experience with Endur and/or Murex (key ETRM/CTRM systems):
Setting up static data, market data (Curves), Contracts, Trade templates.
Deep understanding of simulations, EOD (End of Day) process, data extraction & ingestion.
Ability to write SQL statements for analytical work.
Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivots, macros, etc.) for analysis and reporting.
Working experience with Jira and Scrum boards.
