SAP S/4HANA ABAP Lead (Landscape/Transport Management) || Dallas, TX

Role: SAP S/4HANA ABAP Lead (Landscape/Transport Management)

Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Key Responsibilities:
• Landscape Management: Act as the primary technical contact for N (ECC) and N+1 (S4) landscape strategy, ensuring smooth, automated transport movement.
• Code Synchronization: Perform retrospectives on code changes, identifying conflicts and retrofitting enhancements from the N track into the N+1 track using SAP solution manager tools like Revtrac.
• S/4HANA Development: Design and develop custom solutions using CDS Views, AMDP, OData services, and Fiori, ensuring compliance with S/4HANA standards.
• Release Governance: Manage complex transport dependencies (retrofitting) to ensure that code deployed in the production environment is retrofitted into S4 environment timely and accurately
• Issue Resolution: Analyze, document, and resolve technical issues arising from differences between the two environments, ensuring high-quality, stable code.
• Collaboration & Documentation: Working with functional resources across various SAP modules to resolve object conflicts and document the details for audit and historical references

Required Technical Skills:
• Expertise in ABAP on HANA, including CDS views and AMDP , S/4HANA Fiori, OData, and Embedded Analytics.
• Extensive experience with Transport Organizer and Retrofit processes in Solution Manager.
• Execute and support system upgrade activities, including pre checks, SUM execution, and post upgrade validation. Handle SPAU and SPDD adjustments during S/4HANA upgrades. Ensure consistency of custom objects and enhancements post-upgrade.

SAP Fiori & OData Services
• Configure and deploy OData services for Fiori applications
• Activate and manage services via /IWFND/MAINT_SERVICE
• Design and develop Fiori applications and UI5 components
• Understand integration between Gateway, Backend system, and Launchpad

SICF & Service Activation
• Configure and activate SICF services required for OData and Fiori apps
• Ensure correct ICF node activation and service paths for seamless connectivity
• Troubleshoot service connectivity and authorization issues

Web Services & Integration
• Register and configure SOAP/Web services in SAP
• Work on service consumption and provider configurations
• Support integrations involving IDoc, CPI, SLT, and external systems

Rev-Trac / Transport Management
• Handle Rev-Trac PODS check errors during transport lifecycle
• Ensure compliance with release management and transport controls
• Perform root cause analysis for failed transports and remediation

Vertex / Tax Integration
• Understand integration concepts of Vertex tax engine
• Familiarity with SIC (Single Instance Configuration / System Integration Component) in Vertex context
• Support tax-related enhancements and troubleshooting

Experience Requirements:
• Minimum 12-14 years of experience in SAP ABAP, with at least 5-6 years focusing on S/4HANA implementations.
• Experience in managing N & N+1 development landscapes in large-scale, multi-track projects.
• Excellent communication Skills to coordinate with multiple teams.

S4HANA FICO Upgrade , Conversion, migration & Transformation
Key Responsibilities
1. SAP FICO Functional Expertise
• Configure and support core Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules including GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Cost Center, and Profit Center Accounting
• Support business process design, gap analysis, and solutioning
2. S/4HANA Upgrade , Conversion, migration & Transformation
• Support S/4HANA conversion activities, including Finance data model changes (e.g., Universal Journal)
• Expertise in closing cockpit, ensuring financial data accuracy and compliance.
• Perform and validate post-upgrade finance configurations and reconciliations
• Collaborate with technical teams during SPAU/SPDD impact validations (functional perspective)
3. Business Process Reengineering (BPR)
• Analyze and redesign existing finance business processes to align with S/4HANA best practices
• Identify opportunities for process simplification, standardization, and automation
• Drive efficiency improvements and cost optimization across finance operations
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to implement optimized end-to-end processes
4. Data Migration (Core Focus Area)
• Lead and execute end-to-end data migration activities using tools like LSMW, LTMC, Migration Cockpit, and ETL tools
• Perform data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and validation
• Define migration strategy (Greenfield / Brownfield / Selective)
• Conduct mock loads, reconciliation, and sign-off with business stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with data governance and audit requirements

5. Integration & Interfaces
• Work with cross-functional teams to validate integration with SD, MM, SCM, and external systems
• Support finance-related interfaces including IDocs, APIs, and middleware (CPI/PI)
• Ensure accurate posting flows across integrated processes (e.g., O2C, P2P)
6. Testing & Validation
• Prepare and execute SIT, UAT, and regression testing for finance processes
• Ensure data reconciliation (legacy vs SAP) post-migration
• Drive defect resolution and business validations
7. Governance & Controls
• Ensure proper documentation (FS, config docs, migration specs)
• Adhere to change management, audit controls, and approval workflows
• Participate in cutover planning and hypercare support

• Strong hands-on experience in SAP FICO (FI & CO modules)
• Proven experience in S/4HANA implementations , system conversion, upgrades and Migration
• Expertise in data migration tools (Migration Cockpit, LSMW, ETL tools)
• Strong understanding of financial data structures and reconciliation processes
• Experience in integration with SAP and non-SAP systems
• Good knowledge of testing, validation, and financial controls
