Midwest Global Solutions
We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join our development team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate should have strong backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot, hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, and familiarity with GitLab CI/CD. This role involves developing REST APIs, supporting cloud-based applications, and contributing to modern DevOps workflows.
Required Skills
· Strong experience with Java (preferably Java 21 or recent versions)
· Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework
· Experience designing and developing REST APIs
· Strong knowledge of JSON and API integrations
· Basic front-end skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
· Experience with AWS (deployment and application support)
· Experience using Git/GitLab for source control
· Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines
· Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
Preferred Skills
· Experience with Thymeleaf
· Hands-on experience with:
o Amazon ECS
o API Gateway
o DynamoDB
· Experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
· Experience using IntelliJ IDEA
· Familiarity with AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.
· Experience troubleshooting cloud deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and production issues
· Understanding of secure coding and cloud security best practices
