Project Scope:
Seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Configuration Management Consultant to lead the migration and modernization of an enterprise source control and configuration management environment. The consultant will design and implement source control lifecycle processes, establish governance standards, support CI/CD initiatives, and lead migration efforts from existing Azure DevOps/TFS environments to modern Azure DevOps platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead Azure DevOps migration and implementation activities
• Design and implement enterprise source control and configuration management solutions
• Develop and maintain branching, versioning, build, release, and deployment strategies
• Configure and support automated build and deployment pipelines
• Enhance code promotion, approval, and release management processes
• Create and maintain configuration management policies, procedures, and documentation
• Provide technical support and guidance to development and configuration management teams
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and train staff on Azure DevOps administration and best practices
• Collaborate with stakeholders on migration strategies, implementation plans, and project estimates
• Support SDLC governance, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills:
• 5+ years of Azure DevOps / TFS Administration experience
• 5+ years of Visual Studio experience
• 5+ years of Source Control Management experience
• 5+ years of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Management experience
• Strong experience with Configuration Management, Release Management, and CI/CD processes
• Experience designing and implementing source code governance and promotion workflows
• Strong understanding of software development best practices and DevOps methodologies
Preferred Skills:
• C# .NET Development experience
• ServiceNow experience
• SharePoint experience
• Government or Public Sector experience
• Experience implementing automated build and deployment pipelines
Education:
Master’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
