Title: Guidewire Business Analyst with Commercial Lines
Location: Iselin NJ,

Client: Guidewire /P&C Insurance
Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Guidewire Business Analyst with strong Commercial Insurance domain expertise to bridge business and technology teams in Guidewire transformation and modernization programs. The candidate will work closely with underwriting, policy administration, product, claims, and IT stakeholders to define requirements, support solution design, and ensure successful delivery of Guidewire implementations.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as single point of contact for business stakeholders, product owners, and client leadership
Lead requirements discovery workshops, backlog grooming, and solution walkthroughs
Drive business alignment, prioritization, and scope management across initiatives
Work closely with Guidewire architects, developers, QA teams, and product owners throughout the project lifecycle.
Support CAB, change requests (CRs), and release governance processes
Functional & Solution Ownership
Perform gap analysis between current-state and future-state business processes.
Translate business needs into functional designs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and solution options
Provide domain leadership across P&C areas: Policy, Claims, Billing, Underwriting, Reinsurance
Support configuration and implementation of Guidewire applications, including:
Guidewire PolicyCenter
Guidewire BillingCenter
Guidewire ClaimCenter
Support data migration, integrations, and reporting requirements.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and commercial insurance business requirements.
Review and validate solution designs with architects and ensure business intent is preserved
Guide offshore BAs and review their deliverables for quality and completeness
Delivery & Quality Assurance
Partner with delivery teams across Agile / SAFe delivery models
Oversee UAT strategy, test scenario validation, defect triage, and business sign‑off
Ensure traceability from requirements → design → build → test → release
Program & Transformation Support
Contribute to roadmap definition, process optimization, and modernization initiatives
Support data, integration, and reporting requirements including upstream/downstream dependencies
Assist leadership with status reporting, risk identification, and mitigation planning
Required Skills & Experience
Domain & Functional
8+ years of hands‑on experience in US Property & Casualty Insurance Products
Strong understanding of end‑to‑end P&C lifecycle and regulatory considerations
Experience working directly with North American insurers and business users
Guidewire Expertise
3+ years of Business Analysis experience on Guidewire implementation or enhancement projects.
Strong understanding of Guidewire data model, workflows, product configuration, and integrations.
Experience working on one or more Guidewire modules:
PolicyCenter
BillingCenter
ClaimCenter
Familiarity with Guidewire Cloud implementations is desirable.
Technical & Platform Exposure
Experience in Guidewire Cloud migration or transformation programs.
Knowledge of rating engines, product configuration, and underwriting rules.
Solid understanding of integrations, APIs, data flows, and reporting
Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and analysis
Experience with Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
Leadership & Communication
Proven ability to work in an onshore–offshore delivery model
Excellent client‑facing communication, documentation, and presentation skills
Strong ownership mindset with ability to influence decisions and drive outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
Guidewire certifications and Experience with Commercial Lines modernization initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Insurance, or related field.
