We are seeking an experienced IBM Cognos Administrator with strong expertise in administering, supporting, and optimizing enterprise Cognos BI environments within the banking and financial services domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining highly available Cognos infrastructure, ensuring platform security, performance tuning, user administration, and supporting mission-critical reporting applications while adhering to banking compliance and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities 

•                     Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain IBM Cognos Analytics environments.

•                     Administer Development, QA, UAT, and Production Cognos environments.

•                     Perform Cognos server configuration, dispatcher management, gateway setup, and content store administration.

•                     Monitor system performance and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks.

•                     Configure authentication using LDAP, Active Directory, or Single Sign-On (SSO).

•                     Manage Cognos security, user roles, permissions, and folder-level access.

•                     Perform migration of Cognos reports, packages, and security between environments using deployment archives.

•                     Troubleshoot report execution issues, scheduling failures, and metadata-related problems.

•                     Perform backup and recovery of Cognos Content Store and application configurations.

•                     Configure report scheduling, bursting, event management, and subscriptions.

•                     Support high availability (HA), load balancing, and disaster recovery implementations.

•                     Collaborate with infrastructure, database, network, and application teams for issue resolution.

•                     Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, deployment guides, and runbooks.

•                     Support production releases and provide Level-2/Level-3 application support.

•                     Ensure platform compliance with banking security, audit, and regulatory standards.

Preferred Skills 

•            IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) exposure

•            Cognos SDK knowledge

•            Automation using Python or PowerShell

•            ITIL Foundation Certification

•            DevOps/CI-CD deployment experience

•            Cloud exposure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

•            Experience with Control-M or enterprise scheduling tools

 

Nice-to-Have 

•            Exposure to Tableau or Power BI.

•            Knowledge of Snowflake, SQL, or Data Warehousing.

•            Experience with enterprise monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics.

•            Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.

•            Experience supporting regulatory and operational reporting.
