Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, maintain, tune, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Managed Instance databases
Perform SQL Server installations, upgrades, and migrations
Optimize database performance and conduct query tuning
Implement high-availability solutions, including Always On
Develop and manage database backup and recovery strategies
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues
Support database security, compliance, data modeling, and migrations
Develop and maintain database procedures, standards, and technical documentation
Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, network, and systems teams
Provide technical direction and guidance to junior database staff
Evaluate new database technologies and support ongoing Microsoft Azure initiatives
Required Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
Strong expertise in Windows Server, SQL Server, and Microsoft Azure
Experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Storage, and Azure security fundamentals
Hands-on experience implementing Always On high availability
Strong SQL knowledge
Strong logical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Python experience
Microsoft technology certifications
Experience with Oracle, UNIX/Linux, shell scripting, and database automation
