Job Title : Azure infrastructure engineer
Location : NYC ( locals only)
Contract : Longterm
The client needs a strong, hands-on Azure infrastructure engineer who can come into an evolving environment, pick up work quickly, and execute with minimal hand-holding.
This is NOT a search for a unicorn who has deep expertise across every Azure, Kubernetes, DevOps, identity, and cloud technology listed in the original job description.
CORE REQUIREMENTS
Strong hands-on Azure infrastructure experience
Building and managing Azure resources
Azure subscriptions and resource management
Azure infrastructure and platform services
Comfortable working in an environment that is still being built out
Able to troubleshoot and figure things out independently
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
AVD experience is important because there is an active AVD initiative that is close to completion
The immediate need is someone who can step in and help continue/finish this work
Infrastructure as Code
Terraform is strongly preferred
Bicep or comparable IaC experience is relevant
Candidate should understand the concept of managing infrastructure through code rather than relying primarily on manual “click ops”
Senior-level engineering ability
The client wants someone who can take a task and run with it
Limited hand-holding
Comfortable working on things they may not have seen before
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability is more important than having every technology on the req
