Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior/Lead AWS Integration Developer to design and deliver cloud-native, API-driven, and event-based integration solutions on AWS. This role is ideal for engineers who have experience with enterprise integration platforms such as BizTalk, Boomi, or MuleSoft and are excited to apply that knowledge to modern, serverless and/or container-based architecture.
You will help evolve integration capabilities away from centralized ESBs toward loosely coupled services, reusable APIs, and event-driven systems, enabling faster delivery and greater scalability.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and build cloud-native integration services using AWS
• Develop API-first and event-driven architectures using AWS managed services
• Implement integrations using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and container platforms (ECS/EKS), Bedrock, Cloudwatch
• Apply integration patterns in a distributed, microservices-oriented environment
• Modernize existing integrations built on BizTalk, Boomi, or MuleSoft into AWS-native solutions
• Build resilient, loosely coupled workflows with retry, DLQ, and fault-tolerant patterns
• Collaborate with product, platform, and DevOps teams to define integration standards
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code for cloud workloads
• Ensure observability using logging, metrics, and tracing (CloudWatch, X-Ray, OpenTelemetry)
• Drive performance, security, and cost optimization best practices
Required Skills & Experience
• 7+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong experience designing distributed systems and integrations
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, including:
• AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Dynamodb
• Amazon EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, Step Functions, AWS Transfer Family
• ECS or EKS with Docker
• Experience with Apache Airflow and Azure DevOps
• Experience with API design and lifecycle management (REST, OpenAPI, OAuth2)
• Proficiency in Java, Python, C#, or Node.js
• Experience with CI/CD automation and DevOps practices
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK)
• Understanding of security, identity, and networking in cloud environments
• Familiarity with enterprise integration platforms (BizTalk, Boomi, MuleSoft) as a foundation for modernization
• Experience with object-oriented programming and implementation
Nice to Have
• Experience building serverless or event-driven architectures at scale
• Experience migrating from ESB or iPaaS platforms to AWS-native services
• Knowledge of microservices, domain-driven design, or hexagonal architecture
• Experience with streaming platforms (Kafka / MSK)
• AWS certifications
What You’ll Be Building
• Reusable, versioned APIs and event contracts
• Decoupled services that scale independently
• Secure, observable, production-grade AWS workloads
• Integration platforms aligned with modern cloud architecture principles
Why This Role Is Different
• Focus on AWS-native patterns, not ESB maintenance
• Emphasis on autonomy, scalability, and loose coupling
• Opportunity to modernize complex enterprise integrations using modern cloud tooling
