Job Role and Responsibilities:
The SAP VMS Consultant is responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, and support of SAP Vehicle Management System (VMS) solutions for automotive and vehicle distribution businesses. The role focuses on managing end-to-end vehicle lifecycle processes including vehicle ordering, logistics, yard management, sales, invoicing, and settlement, ensuring seamless integration with SAP SD, MM, FI, and logistics modules.

**Key Responsibilities:**
Functional Responsibilities
– Configure and support SAP VMS covering:
– Vehicle master data and vehicle categories
– Vehicle order management
– Vehicle allocation and availability
– Yard and logistics processing
– Vehicle sales, billing, and returns
– Gather and analyze business requirements from automotive stakeholders and translate them into SAP VMS solutions.

– Design and document functional specifications for enhancements, reports, interfaces, and workflows.
– Support end-to-end vehicle lifecycle from factory ordering to dealer/customer delivery.

Integrate SAP VMS with:
– SAP SD (Sales & Distribution)
– SAP MM (Materials Management)
– SAP FI/CO (Finance & Controlling)
– SAP LE / EWM / TM (Logistics & Transportation)
– Participate in SAP S/4HANA VMS implementations or migrations from ECC.
– Perform unit testing, integration testing, UAT support, and defect resolution.
– Provide post-go-live support and continuous improvement.

Technical & Integration Responsibilities:
– Work closely with ABAP and integration teams for:
– IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs
– Enhancements (BADIs, User Exits)
– Interfaces with OEM, dealer, or third-party logistics systems
– Support data migration and vehicle master conversion activities.
– Ensure compliance with automotive business rules and SAP best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
– Strong hands-on experience with SAP VMS (ECC or S/4HANA)
– Good understanding of automotive business processes
– Experience integrating VMS with SD, MM, FI
– Knowledge of vehicle-specific processes:
– VIN handling
– Vehicle stock management
– Vehicle invoicing and settlement
– Experience with SAP implementation or rollout projects
