Job Overview
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts DOR is seeking an experienced SharePoint Business Analyst to support an enterprise migration of files from network file shares to Microsoft SharePoint Online and OneDrive. The Business Analyst will analyze business and application impacts, gather requirements, document current processes, and help define SharePoint models that meet agency business and functional needs.
Responsibilities
Analyze network shares, security groups, user permissions, and applications accessing shared drives.
Conduct structured interviews with business and IT stakeholders to identify processes, use cases, and requirements.
Develop and maintain use cases, business process models, requirements documents, application inventories, and SharePoint models.
Document stakeholder interviews, gather feedback, and convert findings into business requirements.
Participate in requirements reviews, design meetings, status meetings, and solution discussions.
Support development of proposed SharePoint solutions and security group models.
Coordinate SharePoint security requirements with the CISO office.
Assist with enterprise architecture for SharePoint sites used for file storage.
Create and maintain project artifacts within SharePoint.
Review and update SharePoint governance documentation.
Present SharePoint findings, recommendations, and proposed models to senior management.
Use Jira to document user stories, use cases, and project tasks.
Collaborate with project teams and business units throughout the migration lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of Business Analyst experience.
2+ years of enterprise SharePoint Online experience with hands-on Microsoft 365 SharePoint knowledge.
Direct experience migrating network/shared file drives to SharePoint and/or OneDrive.
Strong experience in requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, and business process modeling.
Experience creating use cases, requirements documents, business process models, and design artifacts.
Strong understanding of SharePoint security, permissions, governance, and site models.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business users, and senior management.
Experience working in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
Strong Visio and PowerPoint skills.
Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
Candidate Screening Requirements

Network file share to SharePoint/OneDrive migration experience.
Number of SharePoint file migration projects and organizations supported.
Number of other SharePoint implementation projects and organizations supported.
Business analysis projects involving presentations to senior management.
Additional Requirements
Selected candidate must complete DOR background check and fingerprinting.
37.5-hour work week; no overtime.
Telework agreement, CORI check, and photo ID required for interview.
All hires start approximately 3 weeks after acceptance.
Candidate must be able to work onsite in Chelsea, MA one day per week.
