Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and customize eCommerce applications using WebSphere Commerce (WCS/HCL Commerce).
Develop and enhance storefront features, catalog, order, and payment modules.
Implement REST/SOAP web services and integrate third-party systems (payment gateways, shipping, CRM).
Customize WCS components such as data beans, commands, controllers, and business logic.
Work on Aurora/React-based storefronts and headless commerce architecture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UI/UX, QA, and business stakeholders.
Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and documentation.
Required Skills:
Strong experience in IBM WebSphere Commerce (v7/v8) or HCL Commerce.
Proficiency in Java, J2EE, JSP, Servlets, JDBC.
Experience with WCS architecture: Struts framework, commands, data beans, access beans.
Hands-on experience with REST/SOAP APIs and web services.
Experience with databases such as DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server.
Familiarity with build tools (Maven/Gradle) and version control systems (Git/SVN).
Knowledge of application servers like WebSphere Application Server.
Experience with caching, search (Solr), and performance tuning.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with HCL Commerce 9 (microservices, Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of front-end technologies (React, Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
Understanding of SEO, accessibility, and responsive design in eCommerce.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
5+ years of relevant experience in eCommerce development.
