Job Role: Senior Business Analyst-Prior experience working with State, Federal, or Local government agencies
Location: Austin, TX (Onsite – Must be local to the Austin area)
This role supports automation initiatives and application enhancements by serving as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and development teams. The Senior Business Analyst will lead requirements gathering, user story development, QA reviews, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) coordination within Agile environments. The position requires hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or Jira and strong expertise in business process improvement, solution analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)
· Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, user needs, and system issues to support automation and application improvements.
· Translate business needs into detailed, well-defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements.
· Perform solution analysis including cost-benefit analysis, ROI assessments, and build vs. buy evaluations.
· Conduct QA reviews of user stories to ensure completeness, clarity, and readiness for development.
· Coordinate and guide User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities with business stakeholders, ensuring timely sign-off and documentation of additional backlog items.
· Participate in and lead Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
· Serve as the primary interface between stakeholders and development teams, clarifying requirements and resolving questions.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement and workflow reengineering using industry-standard methodologies and technology solutions.
· Develop wireframes and support intuitive, user-centered solution design.
· Perform manual and mobile application testing as needed.
· Troubleshoot application issues and recommend effective solutions.
· Adhere to organizational policies and procedures while meeting deadlines and managing assigned tasks efficiently.
Required Qualifications
· 8+ years of experience working as a Business Analyst within Agile teams, actively participating in and leading Agile ceremonies.
· 8+ years of experience performing senior-level business analysis under limited supervision with independent judgment.
· 8+ years of experience writing high-quality user stories with detailed acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements.
· 8+ years of experience conducting QA reviews to ensure requirements readiness and completeness.
· 8+ years of experience coordinating and guiding User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in complex environments.
· 8+ years of experience identifying process improvement opportunities and supporting automation initiatives.
· 8+ years of hands-on experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience working with a Texas State Agency.
· Experience supporting one or more state or federal government agencies.
